
The weather here has taken a complete U-turn. It’s been raining every single day for the past 20 days, with overcast skies and gloomy surroundings that feel anything but spring-like.
During the weekdays, though, the rain barely affects me. I’m cooped up in the office, surrounded by bright artificial lighting, controlled temperatures, and no glimpse of the outside world. Rain or shine, the view inside my workplace remains the same, monotonous ‘landscape.’
But weekends are a different story. When it rains on weekends, we’re pretty much confined to our home, and even simple tasks like grocery shopping feel like an ordeal.
This past Saturday was a prime example—it rained incessantly all day, accompanied by thunder and lightning like I’ve never seen before. Call me weird, but I’m not one of those “rainy day, pakodas, and hot tea” types. On a dark, cloudy day like that, I find it impossible to muster up the energy to whip up bhajjis or pakodas. Instead, I’d much rather sprawl on the couch, watching an old, sappy romantic movie and maybe even shedding a tear or two. Remember the movie One Fine Day? It’s perfect for moments like these.
